HOPE, Jose Martin

HOPE For example, is knowledge the same thing as hope? It would seem not. In fact, hope and knowledge about one and the same thing are not even compatible. It makes sense to hope that something is true only when we think we do not know it is true. It makes sense to hope that your answer to a test question is correct only if you think you do not know that it is correct. More generally, to hope that something is true is to be intellectually uncertain as to whether it is true but to want it to be true because we think it would be good if it were true. for example, we hope that our severely injured leg will saved from amputation(to cut off) or that we will get the job for which we have applied.
furthermore, what we hope is true might be false, whereas what we know can not be false. That is difficult but very important point. it follows from the fact that we can think we know some thing without actually knowing it. if something that you know turns out to be false, then you thought you knew it, but the fact that it turned out to be false means that you did not know it – you only thought that you knew it. when people 'knew' that the sun went around the earth they didn't know it; they just thought they knew it.
In this Period of Apostles season I heard a prayer song;
The cripple thought that he would get,
Just something for his daily bread.
But Simon gave beyond his hope,
He reckoned not such great a thing.
it is that a crippled beggar at the beautiful gate of the temple expecting to receive something from peter and John. and they gave him beyond his hope. in the name of Jesus Christ they healed him. The cripple started to walk.
Hopefulness is making you to believe that something you want will happen.
