HUMANITY

 

Albert Einstein once said "We cannot despair of humanity, since we ourselves are human beings." I hope we can find the value of humanity through the above quote. The meaning of humanity is given by the encyclopedia is Humans considered as a group, the human race. These meanings speak humanity is not a matter of single man or woman it is always related with the other. We live in and among the humanity. Still how can we define humanity?  Oxford dictionary defines humanity as follows- "The quality of being human; the peculiar nature of man, by which he is distinguished from other being."  I think that humanity only enabling people to achieve their goals and live the sorts of lives they want to live. One advantage of humanity is that it is so obviously desirable. It's difficult to imagine anyone rejecting its value. No matter your personal values or goals in life, substantive freedom of humanity will help you achieve them.

What I would like to share as my topic is, How humanity is related with philosophy? Since we all know that we are rational beings and we have the capacity to think and act.  Think + act make man wise and Philosophy is love of wisdom. To have good thinking and moral life we may imitate other, for example we have inculcated many good habits and virtues what we have seen in our parents while we were children. In this sense humanity stand as epistemic agents. We need each other to help us be knower's able to make knowledge claims. In other way humanity help us become aware of our own talents and weakness and help us to develop enlarged views. My position is that it is only with the help of others we are able to know anything. Every day we have our bed-coffee with the headlines of corruption and crime. Do we serious about it?  What does it indicate? Nothing but the low quality of value that we have given to the Humanity.  We become sons and daughters of Gean Pal Sarthe who told "The other is hell." From the philosophical point of view what we can do to develop the value based humanity? Try to convey the message that we are dependent being and we cannot live with the other. Whatever the technologies come up with new ideas whether it is 3G or 4G, human is always related to Humanity and its values.  Remember technologies cannot bring up humans to his or her zenith of living.
